FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who comes To Fountain of Agape Mission Centre?

Anyone and everyone is more than welcome. Fountain of Agape Mission Centre has a very mixed congregation who come together from a variety of backgrounds and traditions.

I have never been to church before. Is it OK for me to come?

In a word, yes, we will be only too happy to see you.

Is it OK to come on my own?

You certainly can. You will find that people will say hello to you. If you start to talk to them then they will have a chat with you. If you prefer to be left alone then your wishes will be respected.

What should I do when I come in?

You will be greeted by some friendly faces who will offer you a cup of tea, or coffee before service begins.

Where can I sit?

There is no reserved seating in church, so please feel free to sit anywhere. If you are new to church, then you may want to sit behind some other people. That way you will know when to stand up and sit down.

What happens at your services?

While there are specific things we do at special times of the year (like Christmas or Easter), all our services tend to include the following: We sing together a variety of songs, from the contemporary to the traditional (led by our music team).

We have a time of prayer

We have a short time for church announcements. We hear the Bible read to us, and then explained in a short talk. After the service, there is the chance to pray in confidence with a member of the church, or to meet others for refreshments.

How long are the services?

Approximately one and a half hours.

Do you collect money during the service?

No, we do not, however, there are envelopes on the table at the back of the room for those who wish to donate or pay tithing, and a black postbox to post your offering.

Will I be asked to do anything during the service?

No, nothing to fear! Whilst a number of people from the congregation play an active role in our services, we want Fountain of Agape Mission Centre to be as safe and as nonthreatening a place as possible, so you will never be asked to do anything you do not want to do.

Can I bring my children?

Absolutely! Children's ministry is very important to us at the Fountain of Agape Mission Centre, and a creche is provided upon request to give light relief to parents, grandparents and carers, so that they may enjoy the service while your children play and have fun. All volunteers working with children have a current DBS (formerly CRB) certificate and we adhere to an up-to-date child protection policy.

What is the dress code?

The simple answer is, there is no dress code - we want you to feel comfortable, so just come as you are!

Can I park at the church?

We have limited car parking available. However, there are spaces in the surrounding streets.

How do I get involved?

There are all sorts of ways to get involved at the Fountain of Agape Mission Centre, whether it is participating in a home group, or assisting in the various activities run by the church. If you have an idea of what you would like to do, please get in touch with Rev Daniel & Apostle Delphine.

What Is a Christian?

Being a Christian means believing in God, and knowing Jesus Christ and following him in truth. You must trust him to forgive your sins. Ask him to forgive you. He will. Then once you are saved you are a Christian.

Do you need to be baptised to be saved?

Baptism is not necessary to be saved, however, the Bible makes it clear that baptism is extremely important.
